Cleaning intake manifold

Got it off the cat, looks a bit oily.

Should I just take all the sensors off and pressure wash it out?

Or should I petrol clean it with old toothbrush or brake cleaner?


It's a petrol car not diesel so it's not too bad.

Pretty sure it's a big chunk of cast aluminium.

Definitely not plastic

But why?

Because it's off whilst I do the pcv, rocker cover gaskets, spark plugs. So I might as well.

Maybe even dremel some casting marks smooth for that improved air flow.

Anyway hot water didn't work.
I don't have a big enough bucket to fit it in to leave it soaking in petrol.

Break cleaner just made a lot of black crap come out but it doesn't actually look much cleaner.

Thinking of pressure washing it.
