Hi.

Got this Lavazza A Modo Mio Magia coffee machine, not used it for a while, uses pods, I think it needs a proper clean.

Any recommendations of any solution I can get to flush through the machine to ensure it's safe to drink from again?

Thanks!

Personally, I just let the machine (nespresso) make hot cups of water until the water comes out clear, then a few more times for luck. That's good enough for me, I didn't die.

Id be more worried that any cleaning stuff is going to leave a funny taste behind.

I've got a Tassimo and it's got a cleaning cleaning disc that just puts hot water through it. I do the same as above, just keep running it till it's clear.

Definitely safe just flushing it with water? I just worry if it's had coffee going through it and now it's sat not used/cleaned in months it might be a bit manky in the tubes?

You can get descaling tablets for coffee machines that help clean them, I use one with my Tassimo every so often when it tells me to.

The tassimo cleaning tablets do an excellent job. Fill water tank, drop both tablets in - let them fizz and dissolve, put in cleaning disk and the trigger cleaning program... leave it going... then to rinse, empty and rinse water tank then fill and trigger cleaning cycle again.. it really rinses it and the next cup had no bad taste.

On my big machine, there’s some Italian powder that you do the same - it dissolves coffee oils and stuck on coffee stains.

The tasimo tablets are pretty much the same - so I may be tempted to try Those in it instead :)
