Cleaning my PC..

So i was cleaning my PC this morning with a can of compressed air... plenty of dust came out and now my pc is quieter and cooler.. although when i first started the PC up after i cleaned it, it loaded to desktop but then just suddenly switched off :confused:

it refused to start back up after i kept pressing the power button just didn't want to start up... so then i unplugged everything and opened the case up removed the graphics card and put it back in... and now it works :confused:

any idea what the problem could have been? just incase i get the problem in the future.

compressed air can squirt out cold crap if you point it at the wrong angle. I think ur meant to aim it up and use short bursts - or something like that....

tbh I always preferred a vacuum for inside - and a brush on dust filters.

Vacuum??? TBH so do I but there is, so I am told, a risk of static doing so.
Fingers crossed then 'cos I still prefer vacuuming.................

ah, it might have splurted out something, one thing i did notice is how cold the compressed air can gets... it almost gave me a frost bite!

It's pretty common for propellant to squirt out randomly, in my experience at least. I always just leave my pc off for about 30 minutes after cleaning and never had a problem.
Also, you should be using it in short bursts, and if the can starts getting cold, let it warm up again. Helps keep the pressure up, or so I'm told

I also managed to do this aswell when cleaning out my old computer last week for the first time using compressed air, usually i would just hoover it >.> But when i was doing it, a lot of liquid came out at one point, as i was trying to angle the spray but obviously was tipping it a bit too much. :eek:

To say the least i bricked it, but thankfully no problems when i switched on, i just left it to kinda dry first

Brummies, by chance do you have a Gigabyte Board??

I use a can of compressed air. You're right that it does squirt out something very cold (I think its liquid propane), but that evapourates almost immediately and it never poses a problem for me.

Any idea if this stuff is confuctive, or a fire hazzard when it's splashed onto something? :eek:

Well I wouldn't use it on live electrics, if that's what you mean!

no i have an asus board

, i reckon if i do use the can now i'll just wait 15-30 minutes before i plug it back in and use it. Short bursts and upright is the main jist of it
