Cleaning out steam library

Hey guys. After buying too many bundles I've been trying to be good and working my way through my steam backlog and not buying new games (for now...Prey looks good...).

Its been going fine, I've finished around half so far but I'm considering using steams delete option to remove some of the terrible games permanently from my library rather than forcing myself to play and finish them.

I was hoping to ask a big favor; if anyone could let me know if there are any games in this list of games I haven't played yet that are pretty good and I should prioritize playing, or any that are just super awful and I can just delete from my library and just not bother with.

The Darksiders games are brilliant. Pyshconauts also has a huge cult following - particularly on the GOG forums. I picked up myself recently and played the first 15 minutes just to see what it was all about - it looks really good fun and I'm just waiting to finish one of the games I'm playing just now and then I'll be moving on to it.

I'd keep these from that list:

+1 for Titan Quest. I didn't click with Diablo, but TQ was a whole much better experience.

Wow, you have bought a lot of sh!te...

I wouldn't bother removing them from you library, you never know, you might install a random game one lazy Sunday and get really into it, happened to me with Fez

Yeah there's a lot of rubbish, I just bought a load of the humble bundles and claimed the free game giveaways and now there's just a load of junk in my library. I've stopped doing that now and am even holding off buying new releases until I can at least get through a good percentage of what I already have.

I really appreciate people filtering out the good games here. I've played some pretty terrible games sat in my library and it was killing my motivation to keep going through my backlog. I'll be using this thread as a reference for my next few games.

I should also say this isn't my entire library, just the games I haven't played yet.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Xcom1
Osmos

These are all games that I've finished multiple times, and will play again sometime. Other stuff like dawn of war 1, civ5, company of hero's were good at the time, but I don't think you are missing out by getting newer things in the same genre.

Ooh, I like this thread. I didn't even know you could permanently delete games from your library.

Does it make much sense to keep things like Qube when you also have the Qube Director's Cut? And Guacamelee Gold when you also have the Super Turbo version? There were all added from the same Humble Bundle.

And what about Company of Heroes? There are four separate entries for that game. If I delete the three old ones will it remove the licence for the "New Steam Version" as well, as the old licences which entitle you to the new version will have gone?

EDIT: In answer to this, if you delete one it will delete them all. They are somehow linked.

Company of Heroes New Steam Edition is one of the best games I have ever played. You MUST play this game.

Also Burnout Paradise, DEFCON and Just Cause 2 are well worth a play as is Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Oh and Chivalry: Medieval Warfare.

I just created a folder called crappy indie games and put them all in there, just in case there are any diamonds in the rough.

It's a shame you can't just package these licences up back in to your inventory so you can give them away. By the time I've finished my Steam library will probably be halved. :D

Another vote for mark of the ninja. Papers, Please is something a bit different that should keep you entertained for a bit. And Psychonauts is a classic.

Your steam games list is your epeen, deleting stuff would be like....well.....install eveything and laugh at the lesser people!
