hello tommorow i recieve my nice new gtx285 and thought ok im going to do a bit of spring cleaning, firstly going to do a new install of windows 7,then this is a question i needed to know

is it safe to use a hoover to suck dust out and whats the best way of doing it,cant get hold of any compressed air around here so just wanted to know your thoughts on a good clean up.

it shouldnt be that bad its only been 9 months sice i built it.

Don't use a hoover, that introduces all forms of static into the computer. I tend to brush off non-electrical things with my hand then use compressed air on the rest.

Your dust filters will be a state after 9 months, but the internals should be quite clean

fine to use as long as u don't touch the connection on the hoover with any of the parts as there is a chance of static build up.

if the dust is a bit stubborn try freeing it with a cotton bud or a small artists type paint brush.

You HAVE to get dry air like u get with divers air tanks its past through really fine filters. When compressed and then let out at high pressure u can see the water easily with non dry air.

I use a hoover on my fan filters (after removing them) but would be a bit nervous about sticking it right in the machine!

I used a hoover last time, not touching anything, just holding it above the areas required.
Yea, does create static, but it was all unplugged first, and it was ok for me..
Maybe i was just lucky!

think i stick to giving it a big blow with me mouth in inside should'nt be a great deal ofdust in there anyway i hoover my fan covers after i take them out of course and a fine brush if needed then cheers for the help guys
