So this is actually a problem with my Macbook screen rather than monitor, but I thought there would be more screen knowledge here than in the laptop forum.

Basically, I started using Vaseline to moisturise my hands in winter, to stop cracked fingers (works a treat btw), but as a consequence of this I have managed to stain my Macbook screen. It's because I use the Vaseline, then type on my laptop, then close it, and because there's such tiny clearance between keyboard and screen, the Vaseline has evidently transferred to the screen.

I've tried the standard damp microfibre, and it helped a bit, but didn't get rid of it completely. Anything else I can try?

I'd try some IPA.

I suspect it's nothing to do with the fact you use vaseline. I've seen many macbooks and laptops for that matter with key impressions on the screen.

On reading the topic I did not think the OP was a chronic fapper :p, I assumed he had used Vaseline to mask a scratch on the screen and now wanted to redo it.

As above I would treat is same as a scratched screen, not using Vaseline to mask it but using the magic sponge method to clean it (instead of removing a scratch/masking it by making more tiny scratches around it which is what polishing basically is).
