Cleaning Walls...

I know this is a pretty random thread, so sorry for all who were expecting a more exciting one(!), but I've got a very boring question about cleaning walls...

I want to clean a few parts on the walls of my bedroom. They are painted walls and usually (at home) I would just use a damp warm cloth and slowly rub the marks off, but at my Uni house the paint is painted ontop of wallpaper...

Does having paint ontop of wallpaper make a difference to how I should clean?

I suppose dependent on the paint you have to be careful how much water you use, otherwise you might scrub off the paint, soak the wallpaper and have it peel off

If it is matt paint then I would not use a damp cloth. It could take off the paint. If it is a viynl silk paint then you are fine to wipe off with damp cloth. As far I know.
