Hi,

I think this would be the correct place to post this

I was just wondering what to use to clean my monitors ...

I have two U2412M's and I have a bottle of 'Anti Static Screen Cleaner' made by Dataform and some lint free tissues that came with it. These lint free tissues are really good to use with IPA and clean thermal paste but I find that they don't clean the screen very well, and leave streaks/marks with that spray

I just read on the internet and tried using a very slightly damp microfibre cloth (just damp with warm water) and this seems to do a really good job! :D ... But is it okay for the screen? I definitely don't want to cause any damage to them over time.

Obviously it wasn't dripping wet, was just slightly damp, enough to clean the screen and get rid of the mess made by the anti static cleaning spray. I could probably get away with a dry microfibre most of the time but it would be good to know if it is suitable to use a slightly damp microfibre without doing any harm

What are your views?

Thanks! :)

Get some Antec screen wipes, i actually got some randomly in the packaging i received a gtx480 from overclockers, i gave them a chance on my tv which is a glass screened plasma i was shocked how good they were, with itbeen 60 inches it can take ages to clean but these do it with ease, since then ive used them on my eyefinity rig which uses normal lcd screens same perfect result, they are so good i bulk ordered a bucket load of them!

They are called antec 3x wipes, ive also used the antec 100% natural wipes they are just as good.

All I use these days is a micro fibre cloth rinsed under warm water and completely rung out so it's just damp and wipe over the screen. Does the best job for me than using some spray rubbish that always ALWAYS! leaves streaks. Same process used on my 5090 kuro, always leaves the screen streak free and clean.

Thanks for all the replies

And LOL at the pressure washer one :p

Seems to have answered my question that using a slightly damp microfibre won't do any harm :D Think I will continue to do this rather than spending money on sprays, usually a dry cloth will be fine but if it does get dirty then good to know I can use a damp microfibre without causing any damage
