Hi chaps.

My BenQ G2420HDBL has for some unknown reason picked up a few finger marks on it.

What does everybody use / do, to clean your monitor?

I have found a can of 'Computer Care Screen Cleaner' in the cupboard, and to be honest I used to just wipe down my old monitors with this and a towel. I don't want to inadvertently bugger up my new BenQ though.

Is a towel ok?

I use a lint free cloth, (microfibre cloth), dampened with luke warm water, does a very good job.

I was thinking about picking one of them up actually. Just worried as I am not sure if these monitors have some kind of anti-glare coating on?

Theyre great for lcd monitor/tv screens, i get them in packs of four at my local grocery shop, been using them for years on my Benq fp241w.

Thanks chaps.

I have been informed my local supermarket sells these microfibre cloths so will get some in tomorrow.

Is that stuff in a can I have much cop though? It is made by Servisol.

Cheers setter! Thought I would try this out so just picked up a microfibre cloth from the supermarket. Tiny bit of water on it to clean, then used the dry bit to dry it. All marks gone and no chemicals! :)

micro fibre cloth and "Philips screen cleaning gel for LCD and plasma screens." A friend recommended it to me.
Leaves no smears very nice to use. Not used anything as good b4. My product find of the year. It's not cheap for what it is (I think I paid about £10-£15 for 200ml) but it really is a good product

many, many positive user reviews/comments of it online if you don't want to take my word for just how good it is.
If you use it the only thing you need to know is to only use it on a cold screen. Not whilst it's warm.
just google "Philips screen cleaning gel"

Kitchen roll with a very small amount of water seems to work quite well... One piece very slightly damp to clean it, then another to follow and dry it. Working piecemeal across the screen it does a decent job.

I have some proper monitor cleaning fluid, but water seems to work just as well unless the marks are stubborn / very greasy.

edit: The cleaning fluid I have is the Phillips stuff linked above by Defunkt.
