Just wanted to ask if I'm missing something here.

I'm looking on OCUK clearance, and seeing a lot of prices that are either the same, or in some extreme circumstances, even higher than they're selling new on OCUK (not to mention the same product cheaper elsewhere new).

They're cheaper new elsewhere, but I'm happy to not compare too strongly with that, since different companies have different levels of customer service and convenience.

Came across this originally when looking at graphics cards, and seeing b grade cards seemingly being sold for equal, or higher prices, than brand new ones. 90 days warranty too. Whereas there's a 2nd hand company selling at lower or equal prices, offering a 2 year warranty on these things (albeit, you don't know which brand you're going to get).

I've seen people mention some great clearance deals, but looking now, it looks far from great. Issue in the system setting the prices, or are they set manually?

I'm in a market for case and cpu cooler and b grade sounds appealing but prices are the same as new.
 
I was more browsing to see if something took my fancy, but on seeing the prices, got put right off. Good to know haggling is an option, but if the seller is starting at a higher price than New, it's not encouraging!

I know I've been looking at some Monitors but at the prices shown not a chance.
 
Product pricing is based on purchase price + markup. So if OCUK's supplier drops the price of a product from £80 down to £60, the price to the end user normally drops as well. However, products in the B grade section were purchased at the higher price of £80 so they have to stay at the higher cost to make a profit.

Supplier prices may rise in the future and the B Grade price would look attractive once again. Or the product could get replaced by a newer product and then the B Grade product becomes a hard to get hold of item.

OCUK could drop the price, if requested, to free up warehouse space.

Thanks for the advice guys. Made an offer (the original card I was looking at has already gone unfortunately), was accepted :). Not quite what I was after at first, but happy with the price, and it's an upgrade on a rx580 which was the main thing!
