Hi guys,

I've got a couple of machines in my circle that have 'optional' updates listed for kit; monitors, Android Dev. stuff and other bits that although have been connected in the past, I either no longer use or even own.

Is there a script or cache that can be cleared in the scenario that can tell Windows?

Thanks.

you can either do above or.

open Services.msc
Turn off Windows Update (disabled/stopped)
Delete/move C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution

open services.msc
Turn on Windows update Update (Automatic Delayed) Started
Check for updates -> This will take some time up to an hour worse case it will recreate the The folder & database files & check for every update.
After check for updates it may say that Windows has not been updated ever.
this is because you deleted all the windows update cache, Current downloaded updates & history (basically a full reset)
its safe & the recommded way from Microsoft themselves to clear any WU issues
