Hi All,

Kevin Smith dropped the trailer for Clerks 3 -


I was a huge fan of the original Clerks, but Clerks 2 was just so/so and this just feels like an uber-meta edition which probably didn't need telling, even though its really good to see "the band" back together.
 
Smith stopped being funny and a decent director when he started smoking weed, i enjoyed his earlier stuff such as Clerks and Dogma, hell I enjoyed Zack & Miri make a porno. Since then though, good god his newer stuff is horrific, tried giving Jay & Silent Bob reboot a watch and had to turn it off after 20 minutes, cringe worthy and just not funny.

Used to bang out some decent podcasts too, but even they turned into the same stories and woe is me attitude - should thank him for pointing me at the TESD pod, that's still top class.

A+ shill though.

Hmm not sure about this, i kinda woulda thought in this day and age the guys woulda opened up a medical cannabis dispensary and jay and bob be the ppl bringing in the customers lol or hired to be door men for it lol. Tho just noticed they have a headshop next door so i guess jay and bob happy enough, but woulda been funnier if they ran a tiny cannabis shop and smoked all their own stock lol.
 
There shouldn't have been a Clerks 2. It worked as a College project, when it was cheap that was the charm to the film. It never needed to be anything else and it doesn't take Nostradamus to work out how bad this will be.

This essentially sums up why a lot of folks think he's overrated. He made a cool low budget college movie then was suddenly making Hollywood movies. Dust YouTube channel has hundreds of amazing short stories by talented directors but won't get a whiff of Hollywood, whilst Smith gets stuff thrown at him.

Clerks 2 was terrible, as will this be.
 
Will give it a watch as enjoyed the first two but this doesn't look like it'll be at the same level as them :( I hope to be proven wrong.
 
I'll watch it as I'm a sucker for Clerks and always thought Dante and Randal were far more interesting characters than Jay and Silent Bob. But it will suck. I know it.
