Hi all,

Wondering if anyone can enlighten me as to why a Clevo P151EM might be underperforming in benchmarks vs anticipated performance. 3Dmark11 anticipates that a 670M+3610QM laptop should get about 3400 marks, but my machine is only just creeping over 3000, and that's a 670M+3740QM.

I've snooped around, and this seems to be par for the course for this machine, e.g.

http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/clevo-p151em-with-670m-and-3920xm-tested.650966/

But it's only just outperforming a 660M machine I used to have, which got about 2650 marks.

I've checked the thermals and CPU and GPU both staying under 80C in the benchmark. Any ideas why the reduced performance?

Thanks in advance

Download Intel XTU and use it to check for thermal throttling while benchmarking or doing stress testing. Even though your temps might give the impression all is ok, there might be some throttling going off.

Make sure you have the latest Clevo hotkey software installed and that it's set to performance mode, and of course that nothing is set to battery saver. And that includes setting the nvidia software to use the GPU at max.

Have fun :)
