Hi all,

I'm picking up my new Clevo P370EM (7970M version) this Saturday that I've spent far, far too much on.

I have a few questions:

What should I put on it, Windows 7 or Windows 8?

What benchmarks should I run to test it out (and what kind of results should I expect?)

3D Mark 11 I would guess - basic edition will be enough, at the basic settings you should clear over P6500 marks.

Heaven DX11 is another, should clear av 45fps with max around 100 at 1080 with normal tessellation and 4 x AA etc...

OS is your choice but for the record Windows 8 I really didn't think much to it, didn't like the new interface but it booted VERY quickly and had a slick desktop once you got use to it.. I'm now back to Windows 7 and prefer it.

So my 3D Mark 11 score was P10100, a smidge over my desktop... huh. Would have thought the desktop would still have been higher.

Guess you've got crossfire as that is a very good score, I get 6589 ish on a single 7970M so what you got does seem to be very good, that'll handle all games with ease with that type of score.

I wasn't sure if you'd gone dual or single GPU.

For comparison.

Desktop = i5-2500K (stock) + 16gb RAM + 7950 Crossfire (stock)
Laptop = i7-3630QM (stock) + 16gb RAM + 7970M Crossfire (stock)

Getting roughly the same score around P10100 (+/- 100)

Same nice scores there, Clevo chassis are great bits of kit.

Regards.
