What a totally rubbish ending. was an absolutely amazing film up until they decide to wake him up (which, by the way, i already knew was going to happen anyway), and i don't mind admitting the girlfriend was crying. my eyes were sweating - everyone knows men don't cry.

but yeah...totally ruined a very good film by putting that "dont worry guys, he didn't really screw his life up, you can stop crying now" ending in it.

bloody Hollywood.

Oh God.

They didn't pull the whole "he woke up and it was all a dream" ending, did they?

oh, not only that...but he goes on to value life, and appreciate his family and everything. he should've died in the rain with his family around him bawling, that'd have been a perfect ending because you were expecting him to wake up after that shameless giveaway at the start, but he doesnt.

Well, sorta, there was the hint that it all really happened as the remote control and a note saying 'Good guys deserve a break' etc was left somewhere in his house. which he promptly threw in the bin.

I said to my mate next to me as soon as he laid on the bed... "And now he's going to start to dreaming"

I was kinda hoping I was wrong at the time but... well, I wasn't.

that was even more predictable has as usual, as essentially no value

I thought the film was ok'ish, I thought they actually pulled off emotion quite well with the rain scene but some things in the film just bothered me. Also it was completely unrealistic :p Who wouldnt want to massage Kate Beckinsale!

It wasnt a dream per-say though was it, he was just lived his life "skipping" the good/bad bits like he wanted, so the Angel character could show him the error of his ways - then he was sent back in time - after lessons learned.

Most blokes i know had "sweating eyes" though lol - sad scene; strange for Mr Sandler - eitehr way not his best, but still a good film

It was an excellent film right up until the ending. The ending was such a cop out. Had they ended it a few minutes earlier then it would have made *** film that little bit closed to a classic.

Otherwise it was an absolutely top notch film. Not what you'd expect of Adam Sandler at any rate.

Yeah agree the ending was completely clichéd, I think that's why I enjoyed the Butterfly Effect (similar kind of film, i.e. messing with course of life), because the end (both of them) weren't your standard "it was all a dream" get-out clause.

Enjoyable enough film though :)

I enjoyed the film but kinda agree about the ending.

I'm pretty sure he said they were originally going to go for the sad ending but decided to make it all nice and happy instead.

I thought it was a very postmodern ending, it is such a cliched ending that nobody actually goes and does it

I thought the film was utter pap though

I was pleasantly surprised by the film, sure the ending sucked but that's usually a given for Hollywood. Henry Winkler was excellent and Walken and Hasselhoff essentially playing themselves was a nice touch.
