Clicking TFT, no screen, disposal time?

Numerous monitors to be collected for disposal over the next week or so, I was wondering if I had to add one more to the list.

We've just had a Yuraku 19" TFT fail, the screen just wouldn't turn on and there's a loud clicking/tapping sound when it's powered on. Occurs roughly twice a second and it happens continuously... When the power is removed from the monitor the tapping slows gradually until stopped.
This monitor is no longer under warranty and we've got plenty spares so it's just going to be thrown out, I was wondering if it was an easy fix though. Have found the other Yuraku 19"s to be relatively decent monitors (for our non-demanding office use.)

Anyone have an idea what could have happened to cause the tapping noise? And if so, is the monitor dead or is it an easy repair?

Cheers :)

I'm not sure, there's not any signs of life from the screen itself just the noise coming from the back of the unit somewhere. It does the same whether theres a signal going into it or not, which probably isn't a good sign.
