...any particular pitfalls or things to look out for on these lovely little French bean cans?
Im doing the disks and pads all round for a mate at the weekend, I have lots of tools but is there anything out of the norm needed for doing brakes on these? Much appreciated!

If your getting the parts from a motor factor, the catalogues list 4 different sets of FR pads and a similar number of discs. When I used to work in a motorfactors it was virtually always one particular set of front pads/discs that had been fitted to most cars.

I dont know about the rears, but the fronts are pretty easy, literally a couple of bolts and thats that. Like moss says, if you go to Halfrauds they list a few different brake types for the clio and they typically gave me the wrong ones to start with :p You need the vented ones.

Thanks for the replies, have got the correct bits via Eurocarparts. Thought it would be easy enough, nice n simple :D

Is it your first time doing it?

Oh, you'll also need a g-clamp to wind the piston back in. Use the old pad with the G clamp to do this. Also undo the brake fluid reservoir and WATCH it when you wind the piston in, it may well spill over and brake fluid is horrible horrible stuff. You may have to use a pipette to remove some excess.

Rears can be a pain because of the handbrake. Take the handbrake off and make sure the car is in gear.

Brake cleaner and grease for the pads is the only thing i can think of.

Not forgetting, with the Clio you put the grease on the front of the pad, not the back ;)

Better method is to clamp the brake flexi and the crack open the bleed nipple on the caliper, THEN push the piston back, that way you don't run the danger of inverting the seals in the master cylinder.
