Clio Braking Problem

Just wondering if any of you guys can help me, under braking my clio (52 plate) judders. Its as though, for a split second the car isn't braking. A bit like the abs is working but it happens at any speed.

At first I though it could be the brake pads but I changed them earlier but still the same problem.

It is quite hard to explain so please forgive the rubbishness of my post :confused:

Any help appreciated!

Is it accompanied by a fairly loud whirring noise?

Would suggest the disks are worn.

Fluid levels are fine and the disks too. Does the clio have an abs sensor on each wheel because it only comes from the passenger side. Maybe thats gone?

Any ideas guys? Had a quick drive around the block earlier and it seems to be getting worse. ABS light came on too.

This might sound a bit radical so bear with me, possibly an ABS fault?

If the discs and pads are ok then with the symptoms you've given, and the fact the abs light was on, could suggest that's it's at fault. No idea how these ones work, but possibly a faulty sensor?
