Hi all,
GFs 1.6 8v Clio (Mk2 Ph1) was playing up last night.
Scenario:
She'd parked on a hill facing upwards, and she went to pull forwards up the hill (finishing her parking move) she stalled, reasonably violently. Anyway, when we came back to the car about an hour and half later, it started first time but then cut out straight away. She got it started by sticking her foot on the throttle and it started, put it in first and drove off. As we approached the round-a-bout, it stalled and it kept doing this at every junction until I got her to put it in neutral, hold a bit of gas on and left foot brake (which was fun!!!).
Anyhoo, we got to a garage, I decided to fill it up anyway, and got a can of easy start and gave everything a liberal coating. It started and then cutout again. Eventually, it was fine. The car would idle at around 900rpm and showed no signs of cutting out. It was fine again today.
I'm conscious that there is an underlying fault somewhere, I think with the coil pack as it has a history of poor starts where its rested for a few mins.
I'm also trying to work out if stalling it on the hill (and then leaving it) caused some sort of airblock in a return / send fuel line. but would like some other ideas.
Anyway, a question I do need answered. I take it this car has a Coil Pack that I can change myself? Seen one on ebay ( http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RENAULT-CLIO-...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item45ef6f00c7) but want to check it's the right one before ordering.
Thanks
