Clock/Dock app for IOs

I wonder if anyone could recommend a suitable app for me.

I have a shiny new Ipad for Christmas and I want to repurpose the old minin one in our cinema room as a remote/IMDB look up/Google tablet for general usage.

I have bought a dock for it so it will sit on that for most of the time. What I would like is an App that when it is plugged in it will automatically show a clock on the screen and remain so until it is taken off charge (i.e. when it is off the dock). We had this with the previous Android device so wondered if there was such a thing on IOs?

Any suggestions appreciated.

You would have to manually open and close the app, iOS doesn't do automation like Android. I personally use Red Clock as my nightstand clock.

Thanks for the response. I feared as much. I may just buy a clock instead. It all just seems so......20th Century.
