I have a 2009 mk2.5 Ford Focus, it has a clock on the dash computer and a clock on the centre audio console. These run on the same system. My problem since I got the car is that the time always runs 5 minutes slow, not a big problem but an annoying one. I will set it to the correct time then within a month it will run 5 minutes slow but won't lose any more time than that.

I have just been back from SMC Ford in Gravesend and they had no idea what the problem was, they ran a 2 hour diagnostic and could not find a fault and sent me away saying they will make further enquiries (which probably won't happen).

Anyone have any idea what the problem is and how to fix it?

No idea but on my 2008 mk2.5 focus i get occassions maybe 3-4 times a year where my date just decides to change back a few months. Completely random had it checked a few times. Bit annoying but just put up with it really, only takes 1min to put right.

oh come on, it can't just go back 5 minutes then can it? It doesn't inherently know the time and set it back to 5 minutes before the ACTUAL time. Are you sure it isn't set by radio and your other clocks are wrong?

So it's not just me then! I thought I was going mental having to set my clock forward a couple of minutes every couple of months. But I'll admit, wasn't that bothered and didn't research the problem

Could this be some issue with RDS, I've noticed the clock change in my car before when it picks up the time from the radio station. Usually I only see this when the clocks move forward/back, but I've noticed different times show up between a couple of local radio stations.
