Essentially whats the main spec to consider and what effect does each have? The reason I ask is;

OcUK Galaxy GeForce 7950 GT OC SILENT 512MB GDDR3 HDTV/HDCP/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-044-OK)
565MHz / 1430MHz

OcUK MSI GeForce 7900 GTO SILENT 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-041-OK)
650MHz / 1420MHz

So whats the best card out of thsoe two for FPS gaming at widescreen 1440 x 900, all settings maxed out?

GTO is better. Lot of room for overclocking on the memory too.
It's also £20 cheaper - no brainer really.

I've got one running at 717/1674 which is a little faster than a 7900GTX

GTO seems to be very popular atm and it's not hard to see why... This is the best clock I can get out of this card before it starts artifacting etc. Good enough for me tho (considering the card was free).

As said the 7900GTO is the better option as it's a rebadged 7900GTX with lower clock frequency and voltage on the memory, it's much better value for money than the 7950GT.

You will also notice an incredible increase in performance over an X800XTPE.
