Yo

have been pondering over the idea of moving to the greener pastures of 64 bit for the last week or so..

the setup i have been looking at would be a Sempron 64 2800+ as these are the best of the bunch and i have heard good things about there capabilities, the main thing i want to find out is.....is it going to make a lot of difference over my 2500+ which is clocked at 3200+ spec?. The 2800+ can supposedly hit around 2.5ghz+ speed, the only thing that worries me is the old chesnut that is the 256kb cache.

Any help or opinions are more than welcome as you guys are the best to ask :)

also, what mobo gives a damn good overclocking potential to go with the above chip, i have been looking at the MSI KN8 NEO and the Abit NV8

Cheers

Ben

nice one guys, thanks for the replies :)

was only a thought as i have been seeing some impressive results from the 2800+ and 3100+ chips on sites, think it was Xbit labs review site or summin, they got the 3100+ to 2.5ghz and it had more power and was beating 3400+ athlons (not sure which core tho) and p4's across the board

The Asrock mobo does sound cool, will have to find some info on it later

thanks again

Ben
