Hey guys, I seem to be having some problems overclocking my X1900, I am using ATi tray tools to overclock and the core seems stuck at 661Mhz, regardless of volts I put through it( I have tried putting it up from 1.4 to 1.5V and every increment inbetween with no change). If i go higher than 661Mhz it just locks up. I have aftermarket cooling on it, a Zalman VF900 and temps never ever exceed 75. Anything else I can try?

Just for reference my RAM is also clocked, at 828Mhz.

How are your VRM temps?

My x1900 is clocked in sig @ 1.55v but i'm under water.

I run it at 400/400 during windows use @ 1.1v to save power.

75C is abit hot...

the 15C between 62 and 77 ment 30 mhz on my XTX...

Im at 742/845 now after a reseat, 1.55V and 100% fan speed @ 60C.

Although I keep it at about 732/836 @ 1.525V at about 65C any higher and it crashes :)

Just checking it and my VRM temp is never going above 58 under stress. That too high?

Core maxes at 71 by the way, I couldnt remember exact figures but I knew it was below 75.

Any Bios flashes I could try or anything? i wont have it for a great deal longer anyways, few months, so I dont mind pushing it.

think you can loosen the ram timings to clock higher but im not sure on how its done, i think its either a bios flash or ati tool that can do it.
as for the core more volts and more cooling really.

I just tried lowering tha RAM down to 720, and putting a monster YStech 120mm 125CFM fan right next to the card, set it to 1.45V and find max GPU. Still nothing :(.

I have a Sapphire X1900XT, and all attempts to overclock it have been nigh-on futile, it seems to gain about 3-4% and then locks up, most other guides for 3rd party driver/software overclocks dont seem to work so ive just been running it at stock for ages.

Last ATi card for me for ummmmmm, possibly ever - my last nVidia card clocked by nearly 20%! 7800GT, was a great card.... should have kept it.

8800GT coming soon - i'll stick with nvidia.

Because one card won't overclock? Hmm odd. Though I personally am partial to ATi/AMD because every Nvidia card I've had has caused me nothing but problems.
