What overclocks are people getting with this RAM :

GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit

Got some on its way to me and im hoping it will do 950, even if its at 5-5-5-15

It's a bit hit and miss dude. The older stuff seems to do better than the newer stuff. They changed chips at some stage.

~950mhz seems to be about the average high clock, with some hitting 1Ghz and some failing to go over 900mhz at 5-5-5-15.

Yours should do 900Mhz at 4-4-4-12 @2.1v, so there should be some space for improvement.

Well even that will be much better than im getting now, should see past 3ghz with my 6300 easily then, and if i can do it with 4-4-1-4-12 then even better.

To get 2.1v do i need to set vdimm to +0.3v in the BIOS? Got a DS4 which im guessing is similar to your DS3

just make sure that both sticks are in the same colour slots. that might not be of any help depending on your colourblindness. so either put the 2 sticks in slots 1 and 3 or 2 and 4. neither colour is any better as they are the same component. but putting both in the same colour slot opens up the world of duel channel.

Yip +3 is 2.1v on the Gigabytes. Default is 1.8v.

thanks for that, my DS3 just reads normal for my geil 6400 2gb kit and 5-5-5-15 timings which i know to be wonrg compared tothe quoted 4-4-4-12. now i can change the voltage to +0.3 and sort my timings out :).

Is it better in the red or yellow ( or it mite be green - im colourblind ) slots?

I had them in the yellow slots. Didn't try them in the red slots because they did what I wanted them to in the yellow slots.

Hi mate it arrived safe and sound this morning.

Got it to 3.08ghz and the RAM at 880 but dont really want to go any furthur until i get a decent cooler on it :)
