Are these temps the norm for this CPU? - See below.

My old 4930k used to max at about 68-70c. On this chip, two cores are maxing at 83c. Im using a H115i and with two Noctua NF-A14 140mm fans. Corsair link set to performance. Board is a Z370 Gaming 7.

V-core is at 1.260v under load.

I'm no expert but for what it's worth, I delidded mine this morning and am using the bios preset for 5Ghz on the same board (Gaming 7).Running small FFTs on Prime95 as I type. Max temp after 30 minutes is 91c on a single core, next max down is 87c.

From what I've seen, those temperatures are about as high as you want to go. This is with a Nxzt Kraken X62 AIO CPU cooler and Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut (liquid metal) on the CPU and Kryonaut (thermal paste) between CPU and cooler.

Just playing around at the moment so (assuming current OC is stable) unsure whether to push frequency higher or reduce voltages to stick at 5Ghz with cooler temps.

Short answer to your Q: I think your temps are fine :)

Bios preset could be pumping high voltage so manually do it, may reduce your temps right down :)

Sorry JHONO, as you haven't had a further response and I have I feel like I've hijacked your thread...

Hopefully a bump will help...

(though, again, I'm not that experienced with overclocking but I don't think a peak of 83c under stress testing is anything to be concerned about)
