Evening,

I have a HDD that is whirring and clicking and am worried it's about to die on me.

I have loads of progs etc installed and have the system running as we (the family) like.

Is there a tool i can use to reinstall the whole system, as was, onto a new HDD, plug that into my old tower and have the system running like it was?

Make sense?!

I have installed on a new partition and want to backup to my old partition which was only 17Gb. After installing all windows 7 updates there is just enough room to backup but not the programs I installed on a different drive. Will this program do what I want, i.e. not care about programs as much as the OS, updates and drivers?

Says "Access images in Windows Explorer", this might be what I need. The windows 7 backup tool wants to backup the OS drive and the drive I installed my programs.

I use Acronis at work and it works really well you just tell it which HDD you wish to backup and it will take a backup of anything and everything on the drive which you can then restore any time you want.
