Hi all.

I'm trying to clone my current 19" WS @ 1440x900 on to my lame 21" TV @ 800x600 (or 640x480, whatever it lets me do). Is this even possible? Does a program exist that scales your current display onto a smaller resolution without adjusting your primary?

I'm using an 8800GT and have the nVidia control panel all set up... but it doesn't allow me to use native res' without going Dual View (extend desktop).

This might be a stupid question, but i'd rather ask it than spend all night wasting my time :P

Thanks

It's defiantly possible just with nView. Most tv's won't go above PAL resolutions :)

Sorry I can't really help beyond that though :(

Yup no problem, most graphics cards will let you drive a TV at 1024x768, above that the display will 'scroll'.

I don't know if its possible with nVidia cards, but ATi cards used to do 'Theatre Mode' for TVs - if you were playing back any overlay video it would full screen it on the tv while remaining windowed on your main display.

HI guys

Thanks for your help, although i can't seem to download nView as a standalone application outisde of some age old drivers for the TNT2 range of cards.

I've used Nvidias COntrol Panel (which im now assuming incorporates nView) and set it up in Clone mode, and it works with native reolutions on both but, the scren on my 1440x900 doesnt completely scale down on the TV. It just cuts off everything outside of the top left hand corner :P Not sure what i want can be done.

whats it for? at that resolution you wouldnt be able to make sense of anything on the tv if you were to shrink 1680x1050 down to that resolution.
