clone windows to new hard drive

Jeeeheesus!

1. Open start menu
2. Type in backup
3. Click backup and restore
4. On the left choose system image
5. Choose whether you want to backup to a USB portable drive/cd-dvds/Internal storage drive
6. Create a system repair disc or I think you can use windows 7 install disc
7. After backing up boot onto repair disc
8. Choose the new drive to restore the backup too
8. ????
9. Winnar

But would this keep all of your data (steam, my doc, etc...)?

Yes, it makes an image of everything, and when you restore it restores from that image. Everything should be just like it was.

Or use one of the many tools already mentioned.

Give it a shot ... all you have to lose is time ...
