Cloning/ghosting a Linux OS?

First off, I do not have much experience with Linux, I know the "basics" but not too much beyond but would appreciate some pointers if anyone can.

I install Ubuntu onto a PC with a BIOS/Legacy boot config, all is fine. Configure as needed but having a nightmare when trying to clone/deploy onto another PC which is the same.

Tried using Clonezilla and Symantec Ghost but encounter the same problem, the PC will not boot UNLESS the boot mode is set to UEFI however on the PC the image is gathered from which works, that is BIOS/Legacy and has no problem.

To make it weirder, if I set the boot mode to UEFI BEFORE deploying the image, Ubuntu will not boot.

So, I have to ensure boot mode is BIOS, deploy image, reboot, set boot mode to UEFI then reboot and works... anyone able to understand what I am waffling on about.

My limited knowledge makes me believe it is related to the UUID's of the drives/partitions but I am unsure how to "fix" so I can simply gather an image then deploy to 50 pc's and have them boot.

Am having a look through this thread:
https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/how-to-clone-a-linux-system.18960765/ which seems relevant

Many thanks.
