Hi, I have a HDD with 2 partitions on it : Windows XP and Windows 7. As I installed Windows 7 on the same drive without realising I could then not format the XP partition, every time I boot up my PC I have to choose which OS to run.
On to my problem. I've bought a 120GB SSD and I wanted to clone the Windows 7 OS only. Sizewise it's fine but I was worried that if I cloned the entire disk (Arconis doesn't allow partitions to be copied individually) that I'd still have the same issue with dual booting. I found that Arconis was able to wipe the XP portion of the HDD so I ran that function.
Now I am getting a 'NTDLR is missing' error message on boot up which is related to XP (I think). If I choose to boot up by CD/DVD then Windows 7 launches and asks me to repair or install. I have tried repairing 4 times and nothing is happening.
Question : what do I do? Do I just install Windows 7 fresh on the SSD? Will it still 'link' to my games folders on a separate HDD drive or do I lose all of this? Can I clone my existing Windows 7 over, ignoring and removing XP? Any advice welcome.
