Does anyone know of some freeware that will allow me do this?

Its a 250GB SATA Western Digital which is only using 16GB total space including XP, I want to clone the OS onto a formatted 80GB SATA Western Digital.

I was reading through the limitations for clonzilla & it says: The destination partition must be equal or larger than the source one.

What if I created a smaller partition on the OS drive, thus making the destination partition bigger?

Is this the best way to go about it?

All it's saying is that you can't clone a 125GB partition to a 100GB one. It simply won't fit. As long as it fits, it'll work.

I've had a problem. Used Easus to resize the partition on the larger drive to 50GB (smaller than the 80GB destination drive). When I booted my Clonezilla cd I was asked whether I wanted to clone partition to partition or disk to disk, I chose partition to partition, but during the cloning process some sort or warning message flashed up then disappeared, something about an IRQ. Anyway the cloning procedure finished, I disconnected the source drive & when booting up I get the windows loading screen then the pc reboots! Its just an endless cycle of getting to the windows loading screen then rebooting.

Obviously something went wrong, does anyone have any ideas?
