Close programs to prevent information loss.

Hey everyone,

today windows has begun to pop up telling me to close programs (mainly star citizen ) to free up memory because i am "running low" to prevent data loss.

Needless to say whilst on star citizen i am using 8-9gb out of 16gb so i am not sure why it's giving me this issue. It's pretty frustrating as it keeps tabbing me out of my game ( just now killing me by means of asteroid collision ) every few minutes to tell me to close the game.

Has anyone had this before and is there any settings to turn this off? or is it a registry fix or something along those lines?

all of my ram is showing up and being used so i think it could be windows but im stumped on this one.

Isn't this normally a page file problem? Where is your page file? the default will be your OS disk, is that particularly full?

I always turn page file off for the space and also remove hyberfilsys, All i can really say in regards defending that i don't think it's page file is that i have been removing it for years now and playing star citizen weekly for a long long time and only today has this begun.

If you open the properties of the shortcut to the game, you can set it to turn off Visual styles in windows, this well help free up memory and hopefully stop this happening, used to get a similar thing on windows 7 and certain games.

I will try to get this sorted, however im not entirely sure it will be doable with star citizen sadly.

SC runs via a launcher and you can't launch the game through the exe directly so won't have a direct path for the shortcut to have rules specified for it. I will however try with the launcher and see if the rules flow through to the game but i suspect it might not.

EDIT : Ive just added 8GB page file to my shadow play drive. Just to see if it resolves the problem.

I always had problems turning paging file off so I just leave it on
