Closest game too cod2?

So cod2 is were i started my pc gaming on a family pc and since then i have moved on a lot! Spending a lot of money on my gaming pc and upgrades and soo on! but i still miss the days of the good old cod2 altough its still very active today... What is the closest thing too it thats well modern? when i say modern i dont mean blackops2 i mean ww2 style but nice with graphics and gameplay?

Red Orchestra 2 is a good game that's WW2.
A lot of people say bad things about it but I've never had a problem with it and it's a very good non-spray and pray type of game.
The AI are also quite good which you can find in dead servers.

Can't think of any other WW2 FPS games unfortunately. WW2 > Modern.

I acctually bought that and still has like 20mins left on download (its on sale on steam) but yea i really loved cod2 and would love to see a re make or something!

World at War is not far off the original COD and was the last of the WW2 series.

It's awful. Just like any treyarch developed CoD.

I'm in the same position as the OP, the only thing I play online is CoD2, and nothing comes close for gameplay online IMO. Thank god you can still get a good scrim on cod2.wars.

I've got my appetite for WW2 games back. I know they've been done to death, but I do miss the old COD / Wolfenstein, and killing nazis.

Not quite CoD but I recently reinstalled Return To Castle Wolfenstein. awesome game, looking a bit dated now but still great.

I play most good FPS games and so on... But Cod2 was the days that nothing else matters! it was perfect from every angle would love to see something like it again i may just have to buy it again.. miss the pub games! and ofc the rifle only games!
