Behind you... Naked!
Ok, I have a friend, his wife has been harping on at him about getting a Mac.

I kept telling her, that she would be just fine with installing Linux onto her PC instead ( She hates Windows and just likes the look of a Mac even though she has never actually used one ).

Anyway, she has now gone and bought a Mac and it has cost her £1300

So, what I want to do, is put a version of Linux onto her old PC for her husband to play with, that looks EXACTLY like the Mac Desktop.

I know that most Linuxes will do it to a point, but is there one that looks llike it straight from the off?

Thank you in advance!

Ok guys, cheers on these.

Agreed, I know of none that look like a Mac "Out of the box" and indeed its a tight request to ask such a thing, but hey... Maybe there is somehtign out there thats EXACTLY right, but then again...

This DREAM linux looks nice...

My own thoughts are of OPENGEU as that does look delicious on the face of it, but I dont think that it provides enough ease of use.

The plan is, after all, to do up her old PC for her husband, so that she will realise just how bady she has wasted so much money.

Not that I am saying Macs are bad, because I am not, but all she does is do Emails, and piddle about on the internet... On that score, a PC running linux that looks like a Mac would be a vastly better option than going out and buyign a Mac.

Anywya, where am I?

Dream Linux?
Ok, Im definitely going to look at that. Much thanks on that.

GNOME + SKINS + COMPIZ
Yes, I have been using UBUNTU myself and while I found 8.x to be great with Compiz, it was definitely lacking in 9.4 ( 9.10 is out now isnt it? ) and so, I will need to look proper into that... Thanks.

HOWTOFORGE?
Ah, now this looks tasty... A quick view of the page and there is a screenshot that is EXACTLY the thing I am looking for, so thats another that has to be added to the list.

Ok guys, thanks for these... I will have a play about with what I can and hopefully I will find the perfect compromise.
