Cloud storage?

Been using a mixture of providers for cloud storage, Box, Dropbox, Amazon Drive, Mega etc. for many years. All work well in their own way.

Have been looking at pcloud and their Lifetime 500gb for around £100 which seems a good deal. Also allows me to sync specific folders as opposed to having to move everything into their file structure.

Anyone used them, what are your experiences or does anyone have any better suggestions?

Buying a fixed price lifetime service for anything that has an ongoing cost to the provider usually ends badly sooner or later. If you want big storage then google business is $10/m per user for unlimited and they currently aten’t enforcing the 5 user minimum. I have slightly more faith in google being around next year than I do pcloud.

£8 per month for 1TB of storage from Google Drive or pay for the year and it drops to just under £6.70 a month.
Nice fast speeds too, and the use of Google Docs with Drive is nice and if you have the app you can scan stuff like receipts and it instantly stores them as PDFs on Drive.

I can see the appeal for lifetime 500Gb storage for only £100 but that just makes me think well "Lifetime" is just variable for how long they operate. And what are they going to do to make this service affordable? Is speeds uploading and downloading going to be slow because of running costs? Bandwidth is expensive and so is storage from a data centre perspective.

Get 1 TB of OneDrive cloud storage per user, for up to 5 users. Use the storage for documents, photos, and videos, so you can edit and share them from anywhere, on all your devices.
So because you can have upto 5 users you can have essentially 5TB of cloud storage? But 5 accounts? Not bad for price!

Not sure of that is the case or 1TB with 5 users accessing it.

EDIT:

From inside my account :

Get 1 TB of OneDrive cloud storage for personal content, including documents, photos, music, and videos. (Office 365 Home subscribers get 1 TB of storage per user, up to 5 users.)"

5TB (if I make myself 4 more accounts lol) for £5pm over and above using Office 365 as that is why i sub in 1st place.

EDIT 2:

I think you need to upgrade Office 365 to get that deal.

Office 365 Home
Recommended for households with 1 – 5 users

Office 365 Home includes

I pay something like £79 through iTunes every year. The 5TB can be used with 5 accounts, but you can't have 5TB in one account, each is limited to 1TB.

It's very handy though and Microsoft don't scan your documents like Google and Dropbox do.

Is it only the 99.99 dollar one which offers the 1tb of onedrive storage mate?

The 1TB x 5 so 5TB to share with 4 other accounts yes.

Before you mentioned it I never even knew about it but though it sounded too good to be true for my package.

I have the £5pm and get 1TB for myself.

Well my advice is take the year sub and save after the trial period, I did not mean to keep it so long month to month but ended up needing it more.

Score the usual sites to see if you get any discount coupons to bring it down some more.
