Meh whatever, someone wants to go significantly faster so be social and let them past.

Nothing more annoying than people on their moral high horse blocking someone in a hurry. Always tempted to just ram those buggers off the road who flash you when you overtake them.
 
gaol is the correct spelling of the word "Jail" is it not ? "Jail" is an americanism. So although old, gaol is just as correct as prison.

Yes - you are required to obey the instruction of a police officer "in uniform" if you are driving. Otherwise you can ignore them, even if they wave a warrant card at you. Note that "can" is not the same as "should".

Some people don't take the moral high ground, some people are just over taking a line of slower moving traffic just not at the speed you're wanting to go. Don't be tool, drop back, leave a safe gap and go past when it's safe.
 
I pull back in after I find a big enough and safe gap, not a gap you'd need a shoehorn to get in and out of, if there's some muppet who's rocketed up the back of me in this short space of time I'm in the outside lane, I just relish in it until get to a safe point to move back over to the left.

Sounds like prison to me.

I'm not talking about that, I didn't even notice the word alternating in the OP, I thought some old fart was flashing his lights ( as in main beams) , and I also added I hate people who flash their light because they ( usually some old **** in his 60's/70's or 80's...) think you're going too fast and that I hate them so much I'm tempted to do something to them for being such a moral arse. And I always let people past if they start flashing me, usually there's more than enough space for me not to have to adjust my own speed so why hold up someone else ?

As for impersonating police officers, I wouldn't really care if a guy did that, but I cba to risk getting caught with that, unlike speed these types of punishments are probably a lot higher.

Yeah, and some are deliberately blocking the left lane while they are legally required to keep right when possible because they think nobody should go faster than them because they're already goign 10 kph over the limit. Or when you go past them they start flashing their lights because they're either government kissing anuses or crazy environmentalists or simply too old and can't take it that their hyundai getz or daewoo matiz won't go faster and want nobody to go faser than them...

Same type of morons like them reg stickering (c02 kill5) morons in London.
