Clutch lever question

Good morning fellas.

Wondered if anyone could help diagnose the following issue - I'm finding more and more, that my clutch lever only seems to 'do something' in the last cm of movement or so - like 70% off the lever movement has no effect...

I've tried a Google and some advice points to worn friction plates, does this sound like a likely cause?

have you slackened off the adjuster a bit? so theres 3mm of gap between the stop and lever?

EDIT: what bike and mileage?

I guess you have checked the cable, tension, adjustment etc?

Cable adjustment looked fine, but won't hurt to double check it.

It's an 07 Daytona 675 with 16k btw.

any chance you could have stretched the cable a bit at some point or the main adjuster under the fairings worked loose a bit?

It seemed a bit tight when I checked, I've adjusted it, but not ridden yet - update to follow...
