Hi I have a 'W' Renault Laguna 16v.

Anyhow, last couple of days when I depress the clutch I get a clicking noise. Everything else is fine. Just when I depress the clutch I hear this clicking noise. Fine when driving. It is a constant clicking.

Anyone know what that could be please?

Thanks.

Release bearings usually go quiet when they are under tension (depressed pedal).

Where is the clicking coming from? The pedal or the engine?

Well when driving it is fine. The sound ONLY happens when I depress the clutch. So that is why I am thinking it is something to do with the clutch. A soon as I life my foot off of the clutch all is good.

Does it sound like its coming from in the cabin or in the bay? Im fairly clueless when it comes to lagunas but if its a cable operated clutch the clicking (if coming from inside the cabin) could well be the pedal. Is the noise when you depress and release the pedal or does it still click even i you hold the pedal down?

Just cheap plastics I think, I recall my old e36 BMW clicking, along with my Mums old Merc A140.

I think the French get a let off on this one! :D

but but but the french crapness bandwagon! Anyway in my shed of crap I still have my old clutch pedal and for the OP this could well be the offending item.
