I was bored and found the old dremel so though why not have some fun and start my first ever proper mod with a windowed side panel for my new 690 II. ( I never had the balls to cut up the 800D )

My first time using a dremmel not too bad i think, i hope. I'm planning on getting some clear acrylic and sticking it to the inner side, but as you can see it pic no. 3 there is not much space at the top bit to stick it down. Reckon it will be sufficient just using the other 3 sides?

I tried to do some rounded edges, but failed so just ended up "rounding" one of them with a sanding peice thingy. It's not finished and ill post some finished pics tomorrow if i can get a hold of some acrylic tomorrow (doubtfull)

I am also thinking of spraying the front mesh, drive bays, hard drive thingies and possibly the GPU heat shroud thing as i have a spare from the 570 that died. Don't know what it would look like as i have a blue gigabyte motherboard but i cannot stand blue!

Any suggestions?

Some pics,

Nice work. You just need some edge trimming now. :D

Thats my custom CM-690 side panel. I didnt want everything shown, just the main stuffs. PSU and HDDs are hidden. :D

Thanks! That looks really neat!

Just oredering some neoprene edging trim and some pre modded cables, should be ok when done. I'm not after something stunning :D

Would you not agree that this case would have been better to come with a window instead of the side cooling fans? Ok then maybe we wouldnt have such individual systems but you know what I mean?

Yup, i just refuse to pay for a pre modded one.

Good fun though modding them :D

Excuse the patches, this is just a test to see what the few colours i had looked like.

I do like the look of that brown!

I'm thinking of doing the GPU shroud, the HDD bay slide out thingies and the front mesh.
