Hi

I just changed from a LGA 1150 to AM4 and the CPU came with the stock Wraith Stealth cooler (Ryzen 5 2600) which is quite frankly awful, although it is included so it's tough to complain too much and to be expected I suppose.

I have my old CM cooler but it doesn't have the new bracket thing that is required to use it with an AM4 CPU. I tested it by just plonking it on top of the CPU and it is considerably better temp wise than the stock cooler even though it isn't even screwed in! Obviously I want to make use of this cooler rather than the stock one.

The problem is I cannot find the bracket thingy on its own anywhere in the UK, and it's only available as part of a toolkit from the CM store which would mean paying 13 Euros including delivery for what is essentially 4 standoffs and I am reluctant to do so.

Does anyone know if the standoffs can be purchased anywhere or where I might be able to get the kit in the UK?

**EDIT**

I've actually just tried the stealth cooler with my motherboard outside the case and it's much better, still not as good as the CM cooler but much better than it was before so the main issue is clearly the airflow inside my case and not so much the cooler itself.

Would still appreciate any feedback on where to source the standoffs for the CM cooler anyway.

I have this cooler and the AM4 mounting got me rather confused (I have a Ryzen 5 2600 too).

In my mind, I'm thinking a bracket should be screwed down via the stand offs, but none of the included kit seemed to fit.

In the end I gave up and secured it via the supplied spring lock/arm mechanism.

The Wraith Stealth cooler is really poor. My CPU would hit 79C under Prime.

If I touch the heatsink with my finger during a Prime run, it is absolutely roasting to the touch. This is told me that:

1. Heatsink and CPU contact is fine
2. Heatsink is doing its job of transferring heat away from the CPU

Unfortunately, the heatsink is so small that there is nowhere else for this heat to go and there is only so much air flow the fan can push.

The Hyper 212 was a noticable improvment. Prime temps now hit 60-65C max at much lower noise levels.

From what I understood it was just the 4 stgandoffs that I would need as the bracket that I already does match the mounting for the AM4 socket and backplate, but the gap between the bracket and the clamp screws is obviously too much to actually screw it in. The standoffs bridge that gap. Was yours something different? I cant see how I can secure the lock/arm thingy to the backplate without these standoffs as the gap is just too much?
