Hi guys,
My Q9450 is here on Tuesday along with new board and memory, and when i discover my PSU doesn't have enough juice, i'm thinking of maybe getting a new cooler at the same time?

I have an old Coolermaster hyper48 and was wondering whether you guys reckon it's worth getting a TRU 120? Is the hyper48 particularly dated now?

Cheers.

As another alternative, i rather like my Zalman 9700 NV (big tritium one). It cools my Q6600 overclocked to 3.3ghz very well so should do a 9450 easy - also nicely made :)

Not sure about how dated the Hyper48 is, but a lot of people on this forum seem to like either the TRU 120E or the Tuniq Tower 120 (which OCUK use in some of there pre-built systems). There seems to be an issue with the design of the base on the TRU 120E, so the Tuniq Tower 120 gets my vote.

Sounds like a plan, any idea what sort of temps would be good for idle/load with something like the TRU / TT / Zalman 9700 so i can see how much of a difference it's gonna make?
