Hi, I am going to get myself one of these and have 9 - 10 hard disk drives to install in it, Is this possible as it only says 4 3.5" internal drive bays?
So if i purchased 2 modules the i could add 8 hdd's in the 5.25" bays and still have the 4 internal. doesnt that make a max of 12 drives?, i will only need at least 1 optical drive.
You'll get 1 module with the case for 4 drives, so you would need 2 more for 10 altogether. This will take up 9 5.25" slots but give you a total of 12 3.5" bays.
You have a total of 12 5.25" bays. One is taken for the front panel. So that makes 11. 10 if fitting 1 optical drive.
One CM 4 in 1 device module takes 3 x 5.25" bays up, so you can fit three modules. In each module you can fit 4 hard drives. So that's a total of 12 hard drives. Check that the HD's fit with space inbetween though (I think can fit more in each module, if right smack against each other but HD's would cook)
The 810 comes with one module fitted. I bought one extra, so have two installed.
One con with the case is the modules, to fit more hard drives you need to take the module out, which means unplugging HD data & power cables, and removing front meshes.
Oh I would remove the wire guards in front of the fan, and trim away the excess metal on the cage.
