CM Stacker 830 or Silverstone TJ07?

Yup!

v1000 was a right dud of a case, did you ever have the motherboard risers that did not go in all the way?

v1000+ is a whole different ball game in everything though, they really should not have the same name.

Mine was £180, complete rip off.

I paid the same for my v1000+. Got them both on release day, so paid the premium.

Although within a month they were down to £150.

I did...grrrrr....

Haha, seems you like the v1000 as much as I do then. :p Had its quirks, and it showed a lot of potential, the + is what the original case should have been.

Sure thing pal, like something needed settling

Way past your bedtime....

So how much did a V1000 cost when released?

Oh I'm sorry, you must've just been learning what multiplication was when I was born.

Pot calling the kettle black and all that.

Got my 7800gt along with loads when it was £200 in October, absolute bargain!

Yeh the latest stuff has a high premium, but the v1000 was £30 cheaper within a week, talk about killing the early adopters!

Much the stores fault as Lian Li's, still really annoying.

My Cheifftec Scorpio went to £20 cheaper the hour after I received mine, was gutting.

Wow!

Did you get it imported or something?

Or one of the places that would have got them retail from the states then sell them here?

Just wow, the case isnt worth half that!

I can post whatever i like in CC as long as i dont break any rules here.

Unless you change your attitude you might find yourself unable to post in CC any longer. In hardware forums you cannot simply say X is better than Y. You need to present arguments and reasoning for that statement. If you can't do this, then I suggest you don't say anything in the first place.

Lian Li release premium! Even worse. :p

Still going to be getting a S80 though, I never learn. :(

Oh and the TJ03 now isnt too overpriced, when it was £200 it was. It is in the area it should be, it is a niche case but a good looker. :)

with my PA120.2 rad in the ceiling of the case with 2 Sharkoon Black and white fans and Shiny thermochill grill, it looks the dogs.

S80 looks nice, never been sure of Lian-Li's internal layout, but it looks like there could be a lot of fun had modding one for a watercooling setup.

soon as I can afford to Im going to sort a watercooling rig in my P180, with all that extra space in the top gonna plonk a 120.3 in there moehaha, maybe even remove the middle drive cage and stick a 120.1 in there to server the CPU :p

stfu now about the S80 or my credit card will take a hammering when they are available ok!?! :)

Ahh I did not get my v1000 from here as I remember it being quite pricey, may be the reason.

gr1mey when I get my S80 I will be making a thread on it, add me to your ignore list now to save your wallet. :p

Yeh the Lian Li internal layouts are usually a little weird, either really bland or wacko; some work and some do not.

You got a external grill on your TJ03?

I know this is an 830 or TJ07 thread but in the end they both had too many disadvantages and/or unknowns. I bought the Akasa Eclipse and the sidepanel with the fan instead. That will do me until something really cool comes along. Possibly the S80. But I will let Yewen be the guinea pig for that one, though it's bound to be great :)

My doubts about the S80 are quite a lot! I am interested in how it performs.

  • Is it better at dampening noise than a P180?
  • Does it cool to G series standards?
  • Is it built like a V case?
  • Is the door built well, up to the trials of years of opening and closing?

I guess we will have to wait until people buy the thing and start posting we won't know. After the issues with the 830 that absolutely no reviewer picked up on, I won't trust case reviews anymore on mainstream sites.

I have not trusted review sites for a long time, I just go by what I can compare it to. PC7+ speaks for itself now with the amount of happy users on this forum.

I am hoping that Lian Li get the S80 right, and that we do not need a S80+. Although, you can see it coming as it is a new design idea for Lian Li, they have taken ideas from other cases but it is the first time it has all been implemented in a case of this type.

It's direct competition I would say is the v1100+ and the P180. I have a feeling it will be not quite as good as the P180 for dampening noise, but will be close with the Lian Li build quality, the killer question is how much it will cost in 6 months time.
