I have 2 x 2GB CM2X2048-8500C5

Which I understood were 1066mhz

Any application I use to show my memory say I have maximum bandwidth PC2-6400 (400mhz)

What have I done wrong?

My BIOS settings show memory at 1066mhz

Cheers

The spd tab only see's your ram as being 800mhz, seeing as 1066mhz ram is basically 800mhz ram overclocked to 1066mhz, the memory tab is the one you need to check on, also in some cases you have to go into the bios and set the first four timings on the ram to what theyre rated at, usually 5-5-5-18 for pc8500 (check the sticker on your ram sticks or manufacturers website) you may also have to up the ddr voltage a bit to run with the lower timings at 1066mhz.
