Hi guys, not sure if this is in the right section as it could be many faults.

Currently got a new graphics card and ive been comparing with my old card so ive had both cards in today backwards and forward.

I decide to wipe my hard drive as it needed to be done anyways. The windows installation went to 100%okay and when it rebooted to configure it was just a blank screen after the windows logo.
I thought this was odd and thought it might have been down to switching the cards around and maybe the cmos got corrupt?

So i took the harddrive popped it in the missis computer and that installed windows fine on her rig onto my hard drive.

Okay so now my problem is this. I have reset the cmos jumper on my motherboard and then put the jumper back but i get no power! its in the right section on the 1-2 pin, the strange thing is when i lift the jumper off the pins all the mobo starts lightning up and all the fans etc are working.
Hope someone can help me with my problems please? Regards

you don't actually need the jumper on the motherboard apart from when you need to reset the cmos, most mobos don't even have 3 pins any more and just tell you to use something metal to touch the pins together for a few seconds with the power off and disconnected

Very interesting. I was always familiar with the circular looking battery, first time I've dealt with a jumper :)
