Cmos checksum error?

Hi dudes. My mate has just built himself a new machine, but when he boots, the BIOS reports a Cmos checksum error. He's tried wiping the bios, to no avail and updating the bios, also to no avail. When he restarts he gets long beeps with 3 second gaps inbetween from the internal speaker, any body know what could be causing this??

spec is:

AMD 4600 AM2
Abit Kn9 570 ultra
Geil budget 6400 ddr2
Saphire x1950xt

Hi mate, check here - http://www.5starsupport.com/info/beep_codes.htm under what BIOS your motherboard uses, should tell you whats going wrong and what its concerned with.
