Hi, I have a emachines E520 and the owner has put a password on the hard drive without realising it.

How do i reset the cmos on this laptop?

Or is there another way around tjhis problem.
There is a bios password on too but i have that one so can get into bios.
Obv cant change the hd password from there as i dont know the one thats on

Done it before on a different laptop and it envolved shorting out 2 specific points under the ram slot while the laptop was on. Dont want to try this till i know which points it is :)

Battery is soldered onto the motherboard...on the topside i might add...had to remove motherboard just to find that out.

cheers for reading :)
