CMS for forum and news posts for a clan site

Hi,

I am looking to redo our clan forum.

Essentially I have a static html for the home page with static content telling people who we are etc, with a phpbb3 forum.

Now we love the phpbb3 forum, but we have outgrown the static page and we want to post up news and tutorials for our game and mod editing guides. We cannot do this with a static page.

We also need intergrated login and account creation between the cms and our existing phpbb3 user accounts. IS this possible?

What cms and account bridge plugin would people recommend?

I'd install Wordpress, theme it to how you like then use the following plugin:

Haven't used it myself but the reviews seem to suggest it works fine.

No I didn't know this existed! Does it fully take on the style setup for phpbb3?

Pretty much, yeah. You may need to do a bit of tweaking, but shouldn't be much.
We use it on my clan site and though it's not as good as vbulletin + vbadvanced, it's pretty decent for being free.

Joomla or Wordpress with a php3bb bridge.

I think Joomla has various clan oriented extensions, possibly wordpress has as well.
