hi im looking at a zalman CNPS7700-CU to cool my c2d

i want a silent led-free cooler

is it enough to cool a c2d under 3ghz silently ?

Probally depends at what voltage but you'd be better off with a heatpipe cooler really, How much you looking to spend?

upto £40, and i will sell my TT120 if i dont just run that passive ?

Well for £40 you could get any good cooler really: Scythe Ninja, Tuniq 120, Noctua NH-U12, Thermalright Ultra 120 or Scythe Infinity.

Out of those tho i would get the Noctua on par with the Theramlright (beats tuniq) but comes with a fan so overall cost is a lot less
